JW Bond and Arnold Wright highlight about the Indomitable prowess of the Bhatis of Bhatner thus, “The valor displayed by the Bhati princes in repelling successive waves of Mahomedan invasions earned for them and their descendants the title of ‘Uttar Bharkinwar’, that is ‘the mighty portals of the north’ (of India).” Events involving fictional characters are woven with the historical narration to connect the present with the past. Anecdotes from history and cultural traditions pertaining to certain regions of Bharat are interlaced throughout the contemporary yarn.
