10 WALKS IN KATHMANDU
This book seeks to encourage people to explore UNESCO’S World Heritage sites in the Kathmandu Valley such as the Durbar Squares in front of medieval royal palaces, the Bodhnath and Swayambhu stupas and Pashupatinath and Changunarayan temples. These sites are repositories of art and architecture in pagoda and shikara styles. The Hindu temples and Buddhist stupas form an integral part of the rich cultural heritage of Nepal. But these sites are as much a part of the present as of the past. People make pilgrimages and celebrate festivals at these sites and have cultivated such institutions as the ‘living goddess’ all of which have combined to bestow the title of a ‘living museum’ on the Kathmandu Valley KEY SELLING POINTS • A collection of ten walks that one can take in the Kathmandu Valley to explore UNESCO’s World Heritage sites there. • Descriptions of the art and architecture of the temples and the stupas in the valley. • Informational about all the sites—directions to reach them, their history, architecture, things to do in and around. • Inclusive of photographs that provide a panoramic view of the valley’s sites. • Written by Prakash A. Raj, an internationally renowned travel writer from Nepal.

Over a period of time, acupressure has emerged as a prominent therapy since it is free from any side effect since no medication whatsoever is required
Of late, it is being observed that people around the globe are becoming more health conscious. Whereas, on one hand, scientists are busy carrying out researches, finding the cause(S) in the sudden spurt of diseases in its dreaded form and finding medicines to combat such ailments which assume epidemic shape and a host of innovative methods being devices in the field of surgery, a marked shift is seen amongst the masses towards the holistic approach. More and more people trying to get focused towards fitness, adopting yoga and naturopathy as a way of life.
Paying more attention than before on their diet regime. Trying to take recourse to available non-conventional systems of medicine. One of the causative factors, perhaps, is the exorbitant cost of medicine, growing awareness about the side effects of allopathic medicines etc…! The redeeming feature is that people have started realising the importance of prevention rather than a cure.
Over a period of time, acupressure has emerged as a prominent therapy since it is free from any side effect, since no medication whatsoever is required. It is totally non-conventional, non-invasive and non-interventional, a home remedy, easy to learn and practice. The simple reason being that it is evolved on the principle that human body in itself possesses immense healing power, all that is required is to tap that healing force of the body and the rest is taken care by the body itself.
This therapy has been found to be very effective in handling conditions e.Br>g cervical/Lumber spondylitis, knee pain, Sciatica, Slip-disc, depression, insomnia, migraine, asthma, hypertension, PMS, IBS, various female/male problems etc….. To name a few.
After the publication of our book ‘101 qanda acupressure and reflexology’, our students have been demanding a book sharing our experience of about 30 years in this ‘Art and science’. This book is to meet the demand of upcoming and practicing therapists of acupressure as also for the people to get benefit of our experience.
All possible efforts have been made to depict the location of the pressure points to be attended to through figures, suggestion for correction of the errors, if any, that might have crept in would be gratefully accepted.

Chaukhamba Prakashan, English Books, रामायण/रामकथाAdhyatma Ramayana Of Vedavyasa Set Of 2 Vols.
Adhyatma Ramayan is a magnificently rendered, eternally divine classical epic story of Lord Ram, a manifestation of the transcendental Supreme Being, as the king emperor of Ayodhya. Being incorporated in the Brahmand Puran’s Uttar Khand, it is the most ancient, authentic and authoritative version on Lord ram’s eternal and sublime story. Flowing from the prolific, expert and flourishing hand of the legendary sage Veda Vyas, the prodigious classifier of the Vedas and the Captivating narrator of the ancient Purans, this enchanting version of Ramayan is masterpiece of classical literature narrated in a style befitting the exalted stature of its author veda Vyas. The holy book is completely soaked and infused, bristling and brimming over as it is, over as it is, with the eclectic virtues of devotion and faith, morality and ethics, righteousness and virtuousness. The epic stands out from all other myriad versions of Ramayan in its high spiritual and metaphysical quotient, as it incorporates in its text, as its integral fabric, the profoundest of tenets and doctrines enshrined in and expounded by the Vedas and the Upanishads. This volume describes the text in great detail, incorporating commentary explanatory & relevant notes when required. An elaborate life sketch of sage Vedavyasa incorporating numerous little known facts about him, have been included to give a special unique flavour to this book. besides this, important metaphysical concepts appearing in the text have been explained in a separate appendix.SKU: n/a -

English Books, Vitasta Publishing, इतिहास, सही आख्यान (True narrative)Backfire in Nepal how India Lost The Plot to China
Backfire in Nepal explores how China has become the ultimate beneficiary of India’s democracy-promotion agenda in Nepal. New Delhi had made a bold bet in 2005, but one that contained two mutually fortifying flaws: the abolition of the monarchy and the empowerment of the former Maoist rebels. The world’s only Hindu monarch and kingdom were bound to India in a special relationship that neither country needed to define or assert. True, Indians had been put off by successive Nepalese monarchs playing New Delhi off against Beijing. In retrospect, a little more compassion for Nepal’s compulsions might have put things into sharper relief. Nepalese Maoists, being communists first, were trained to denounce Indian ‘expansionism’ before American ‘imperialism’. Experience may have impelled the senior leadership to make practical compromises. It was a leap of faith for New Delhi to trust the leadership to rein in their cadres’ radicalism. More broadly, since India had also enlisted Western democracies, it needed to address their often-contradictory concerns throughout Nepal’s turbulent transition. The Chinese could act purely on their national interests. India continues to misread how Beijing sees Nepal – both in terms of China’s visions of the past and the future. This complicates the core trilateral challenge: ensuring that Nepal is not sucked deeper into the Sino-Indian vortex, only to be scorned for aggravating the Asian giants’ rivalry.

Ballot, Bullet and Blood
“Post Poll violence in Bengal is heart-rending and condemnable. It’s a dangerous precedent for our democracy. This is against the tradition of co-existence in India. It should not be viewed just as a problem of law & order restricted to Bengal, it’s a national threat. People of the country must take it seriously and compel the constitutional apparatus to cure this menace. I think authors have discharged their national duty in this effort of bringing out the truth of Bengal.”
Sunil Ambekar, Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh
“This book is an excellent effort by Shubham Tiwari and Shivam Raghuvanshi to catalogue the atrocities and to inaugurate to the wider reading audience and the world, the undercurrents including communal ones which were the motivating factors of the carnage. Congratulations to them! More truth and power to Shubham and Shivam in this endeavor.”
Vikramjit Banerjee, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India
“This book is the product of painstaking work undertaken by Shivam and Shubam capturing the internal displacement of Hindus caused by State-sponsored genocide in the State of Paschim Banga, the birthplace of Hindu Nationalism. One sincerely hopes that this book is read widely by Hindus first so that they are awakened from the deep and fatal slumber they are in. I also hope more and more young Hindus contribute to the cause of Hindu survival through scholarly and rigorous work.”
J Sai Deepak, Advocate, Supreme Court of India
“Shubham Tiwari and Shivam Raghuwanshi’s book ‘Ballot, Bullet and Blood’ captures the latest chapter in the state’s tumultuous journey, the 2021 post-Assembly election violence…The cases are in court and before human rights bodies, and the well-researched book takes one through an unfortunate but crucial journey of knowledge.”

Uttarakhand is the land where magnificent temples are dedicated not only to Brahmanical deities but also to folk Gods who are as colourful as they are revered. These grand edifices are virtually poetry in stone where every stone tells a story.
Their ornamental exuberance and intricate craftsmanship can be compared to the handiwork of a gem setter as they stand in timeless harmony with centuries settling softly on their shoulders. Encompassing the faith of millions of people they are also the windows to the past of this proud land where there is little recorded history. But most fascinating are the manifold legends that they clasp to their bosoms as they stand tall at the cusp of heaven and earth. Here mythology merges into reality.
These temples talk. The Himalayas speak. The author has listened to them and attempted to lift the misty veil to capture some of the fascinating stories of Gods and Men, as seen through the eyes of these temple. This book is perhaps, one of the first such documentations of the temples of Uttarakhand.

Bharata Before the British and Other Essays explores a number of fundamental questions regarding the history of early India: Did the British bring India into existence or is she an ancient nation? Was Kashmir ‘unique’ and isolated or thoroughly connected with the rest of India? Is myth the antithesis of history or the self-expression of historical communities? Was there an Indic vision of history and time as different from modern Western notions? Was Sanskrit an elitist language or one with public reach and relevance? Did it also speak for the weak and powerless, including animals? Could Indic architecture be an instrument of liberation (moksha)? What was the ancient idea of erotics (kama) and how did it relate to society? How did it feel—smell, sound, touch, appear—to live in our earliest cities? What is the state of Indian history today and where do we go from here? Filling gaps in our knowledge about India and its regions, correcting misplaced perspectives, and offering culture-sensitive methods with which to work through our texts and traditions, this outstanding collection of 17 fascinating essays invites us to rethink our understanding of India and Indology. BLUEPRINT OF A HINDU RASHTRA
-:ABOUT THE BOOK:-
Sanatana Dharma is our glorious heritage that has been passed down to the present generation of Hindus by our great ancestors who fought and sacrificed to preserve this precious treasure.
Without any sugar-coating, the bare fact that must be clearly understood is that Hindus and Sanatana Dharma are facing a very real threat to their long-term survival. After centuries of persecution, the Hindu society has been systematically pushed to the edge of the cliff. Tragically, Hindus seem blissfully oblivious of this the fact.
If Hindus and Sanatana Dharma are to survive into the next century, they need to act NOW! And the only way to achieve this is by the Hindus coming together and demanding official State protection for themselves and Dharma by declaring Bharat a Hindu Rashtra.
The book answers the Why, What and How of a Hindu Rashtra. It delves into questions like: Why does Bharat need to become a Hindu Rashtra? What do we mean, and not mean, by a Hindu Rashtra? How will a Hindu Rashtra work? What will change for the minorities in the new order? This book also dispels the myths and misinformation that are associated with the term ‘Hindu Rashtra’.

Through a meticulously researched and nuanced exploration of India’s 75-year journey after Independence, British Raj to Amrit Kaal reveals a profound insight—that the quantum leap in the nation’s progress has not been driven through incremental policy and legislative acts, but primarily by the eight ‘pivotal initiatives’ that went far beyond policy in their scope and vision. From the creation of the IITs to the more recent initiatives like the Aadhar card and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, this book explores these initiatives to extract the key lessons for the Amrit Kaal period that lies directly ahead. At the core of this narrative are the Sherpas—those extraordinary visionaries who shattered traditional constraints of politics and bureaucracy. Confronting deeply entrenched systemic barriers, these heroes engineered remarkable breakthroughs bringing in transformative change through their unwavering determination and deep commitment to India’s growth. This book is India’s bold manifesto for the next twenty-five years. It outlines five visionary and comprehensive roadmaps for transforming India into Viksit Bharat, transcending not just economic metrics but serving also as a holistic model for sustainable and inclusive development for Bharat’s approaching Amrit Kaal.

English Books, Vitasta Publishing, इतिहास, सही आख्यान (True narrative)Chatuh Shloki Manusmriti: An English Commentary
Manusmriti occupies a prominent place in Indian textual tradition as one of the authentic sources of dharma. However, contemporary engagement with the text has been wrought with prejudice and discomfort left in the wake of colonialism. The present work aims to address the gap in contemporary approach and facilitate a better understanding through a philosophical analysis of the first four verses of Manusmriti, shedding light on the object, purpose and relevance of dharma texts. Rather than reducing Manusmriti to a mere relic of the past through a historical study, the book locates the text within the larger Hindu epistemological, ontological, and theological worldview and extracts the eternal teachings embedded within it. The book addresses common misconceptions on topics such as the definition of dharma, the integrity and importance of Manusmriti, the notion of ritual competency, and the Hindu conception of varna. The book draws from the entire Hindu textual tradition spanning the Vedas, Upanishads, Smritis, Itihasa-Puranas, and the Gita. It references the works of renowned acharyas including Adi Shankaracharya, Ramanujacharya, Madhvacharya, Vallabhacharya, Sayanacharya, Kumarila Bhatta, and Sri Aurobindo.

“The fear of death is only due to ignorance. Whoever knows this secret, removes the veil of the unknown and becomes enlightened with the light of knowledge. The content described in the book is not imaginary; on the contrary, it replete with actual experiences.
Attempt has been made to gather some knowledge and to get acquainted with death and its process. Whether there is extreme unbearable discomfort at the last stage, has been answered. As a result of interviews with the spirits, one message repeatedly received, that is, ‘Mend your ways, otherwise there are problems at the time and after death. The purpose of this book is to know what we should do so that death is a pleasant experience. Quotes of the principle of Karmayoga as mentioned in ‘Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta’ have also been described.”

Devadasi
Devadasi’s colourful characters teeter on fault lines of race, sex, gender, religion and history. Devaki’s passionate personal story underpins wider concerns. Against the backdrop of the community’s historical role in preserving Bharatanatyam, does Devaki – a dancer who performs sexual services besides temple duties – find emotional outlet, individual expression or empowerment? Set in the Madras Presidency towards the end of the Victorian era, the narrative’s social arc contrasts Raj life and desi existence. An English civil servant, on official duty in a muffasil town near Devaki’s village, finds her a convenient time-pass. Love and relationships take many forms: Devaki’s adoration of Albert and her revulsion for her patron; the unusual emotional bond with her sexually indeterminate brother; devotion to the deity and her battle with herself weave a chiaroscuro of joys and sorrows that make up this ‘dedicated’ young woman’s life. The storyteller’s Gen Z audience raises perennial societal issues – sex, religion, caste, rural conditions – which frame how ‘choice’ governed and continues to govern lives in India.

Dharma and Communalism
Selfishness and arrogance have become so inextricably associated with distortion and misconception of religion that the ordinary person is forgetting the real concept of religion has started accepting divided consciousness as the true form. Many of the different religions that have emerged from divided and self- oriented consciousness are flourishing only because of their ego, selfishness and aggressiveness. This very aggressiveness adopted under the cover of religion is ‘Communalism’. This aggressiveness was adopted sometimes for political reasons, sometimes for economic reasons and sometimes for social reasons. Today, the situation has deteriorated to the extent that the money power, wiles and muscle power are being used openly by different groups to impose their own so-called religious philosophies, that too in the name of civilisation and culture. The goal of religion is to eliminate discriminatory misconceptions and ignorance. But the reality is that this elimination has to be done through cognition at the individual level itself. From this point of view, the existence of the power of duality cannot be denied. Just as the existence of wave in the ocean cannot be denied, the existence of the wave of duality in the ocean of the Supreme Consciousness will have to be accepted; but keeping in mind that the real existence is not that of the wave but of the ocean

Echoes of Conscience
“This book is written around the themes of guilt, regret and grievance, three feelings that are faced by every person in their life or when they are near the end of their life. Mahabharata, one of the greatest epic showcases the themes of guilt, grievance through its multiple characters. The author has used the same concept of guilt and regret during their end days of their life, where each and every character of Mahabharata recalls their bad and good deeds of their lives as a movie and places them on the equilibrium of karma. They all try to defend their actions with references to Dharma, but on the other side, their self-realization, regret and guilt make them accept the truth and Question themselves ‘did they really follow the Dharma’?
In this book, each character of Mahabharata, from Samrat Bharat to Arjun, represents their journey of life and their deeds, which they performed through their own knowledge and understanding of Dharma and through a continuous fight between their consciences. This inner struggle led them to perform such Karma and placed them in the situation of guilt and regret. They accept their mistakes, which led to the massive bloodshed of Mahabharata and a question arises in each character’s mind-could they stop this war? And if they could, why did they not attempt to stop it
